Jamshedpur: The electoral contest for the Mango Municipal Corporation mayoral post intensified on the final day of nominations as noted social worker and gynaecologist Dr. Vinita Sahay filed her nomination before the Returning Officer. Beginning her political journey in keeping with Indian traditions, Dr. Sahay sought blessings from elders at her home before proceeding to file her papers.
Her nomination witnessed significant participation from women and youth belonging to different sections of society, reflecting both her popularity and the growing demand for change and development in Mango. Speaking to the media after filing her nomination, Dr. Sahay said that development and good governance would be her top priorities. She expressed her resolve to make Mango a clean, safe and well-organized municipal corporation.
Highlighting key civic issues, she said her focus would be on addressing problems such as waterlogging, traffic management and improving healthcare services. Emphasizing her emotional connect with the people, Dr. Sahay stated that she wishes to serve the residents not merely as a representative, but as a member of their family. With her entry, the Mango mayoral race has become more competitive, especially among educated and middle-class voters.
