Jamshedpur: On the 357th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Telco Gurudwara is set to host a grand Nagar Kirtan, announced during a general meeting of CGPC representatives.
The meeting also saw decisions on managing donations, revenue collection, and a ban on small town kirtans. Telco emerged as the chosen venue for Nagar Kirtan, supported by a unanimous decision.
CGPC sets rules on unfair donations, bringing them under local Gurudwara Committees’ purview from January 1.
The decision was made during a general meeting of Gurudwara representatives from CGPC, where various crucial resolutions were passed.
Apart from the Nagar Kirtan organized by Telco Gurudwara, significant decisions were unanimously taken during the meeting chaired by Pradhan Bhagwan Singh. One notable decision involves regulating donations received by organizations from Sangat, bringing them under the purview of local Gurudwara Committees.
In a show of solidarity, Telco Gurudwara emerged as the chosen venue for Nagar Kirtan, supported by Gurmeet Singh Tote, Chairman of the meeting. The meeting addressed various aspects of organizing the procession successfully.
Donations became a focal point, with a proposal from Tara Singh of Sonari Gurdwara. It was decided that only Sikh Naujawan Sabha would collect revenue from institutions, emphasizing the need for transparency in financial matters related to religious gatherings.
Vice President Kuldeep Singh Shergil proposed and gained approval for a ban on small-town kirtans effective from January 1. This decision aimed to streamline religious processions, focusing on the two major city kirtans held annually in Jamshedpur. Concerns were raised about smaller events not respecting the sanctity of Guru Granth Sahib, prompting the ban.
The meeting also addressed the Sikh census in Jamshedpur, distributing forms to all Gurdwara heads. Pradhan Bhagwan Singh and other leaders expressed their commitment to ensuring the success of Prakash Parv through the Nagarkirtan, urging cooperation from all representatives.
In concluding remarks, Sardar Narendrapal Singh extended a vote of thanks, emphasizing collective responsibility in preparing for Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary celebrations.
