Jamshedpur: One of the premier schools of Jamshedpur, Scared Heart Convent has once again proved its mettle in the ISC exam.
Girls have put up a brilliant performance as Nikita Udupa of Sacred Heart Convent School with a score of 97.50 per cent topped school in pure science while Guneet Bhatia scored 97.25 per cent in Commerce stream to top school and bag third position in city in the class XII (Indian School Certificate) examination 2014 conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, the results of which were declared on Saturday.
However, students and schools spent some anxious moments before they could access the results, which were declared at 3 p.m. While one school could access the result only past 5 pm, another parent could access the results only around 7 p.m. on the Council�s website.
For Guneet Bhatia, the rank came as a surprise. �I knew I had done well, but was not expecting to be a School topper,� said the student, who plans to get into St. Stephens College in Delhi and later into London School of Economics.
Talking to The Avenue Mail, Guneet who confirmed the result from Kolkata as the council�s website was down, said my hard work has paved off and now I would like to get into one of the top colleges of the country and further I have plans to pursue MBA and later a degree from London School of Economics. Guneet�s parents were over the moon as soon as his result was announced, at first they were in a bit of confusion if she was the city topper but later in the evening it was confirmed as the website appeared to be working properly.
Guneet was third topper in the city (Commerce) and acquired first position in her school. Guneet�s grandmother, Jyoti Bhatia a former professor at Jamshedpur Women�s College has been her guide over the years. Guneet�s gave all credit to her parents, teachers and family members specially her grandmother.
I am very happy with the result and want her to get into one of the top institutes of the country, said Sheetal Bhatia, father of Guneet. Guneet�s mother is a home maker. She has a younger sister who is studying at Carmel Junior College.
Guneet scored top marks in Economics with 98, in Commerce Guneet Bhatia 98 marks and in Accounts she scored a whopping 97.
In pure science Vishnavi Haritha Chillkuri scored 95.25per cent while Rishika Sehgal scored 95per cent marks. In Bio- Science Stream Lopamudra Bose scored 94.75per cent, Aanchal Dhawan 93.75per cent and Shivali Sinha scored 93.25per cent marks and were in the top position in the school.
Commerce Stream girls put up a brilliant show with Guneet Bhatia scoring 97.25per cent, Jaishree Dudani scored 96per cent while Ritu Singh managed 93.75per cent marks. In Arts Stream Komal was the school topper with 96per cent marks, Sukanya Sen scored 94per cent while Prachi Pradipti managed 92.50per cent.
