Police probe into different angles
Jamshedpur : The senior functionary of Tata Steel’s Urban Services unit Vipul Kumar who is recovering from gun-shot injury at Tata Main Hospital’s critical care unit (CCU) is getting better each passing day. The ventilator has been removed and doctors said that he is out of danger now.
Senior superintendent of police, East Singhbhum Amol V Honkar met with the victim to get further details.
“Yes we are looking into different aspects but are not in a position to comment further. We have recorded the statement of the gun-shot victim in details, but it cannot be disclosed right now. Any revelation can alter the investigation,” noted Honkar.
Forty-year-old Kumar was shot at and injured by two unidentified gunmen near the United Club in the posh Northen Town area in Bistupur on November 23. The victim who is a member of the United Club was about to board his car parked outside the club as the attack had taken place.
A resident of Sonari, Kumar was attacked by two bike-borne criminals.
The senior police officer did not reveal any specific point as to what led to the attack. Revealing about the investigation, the senior SP said that they are collecting the call detail record of several cell-phones, including that of Vipul Kumar and are trying to corroborate with that of the statement made by the victim.
“Apart from collecting and reviewing the call details, we are also interrogating over half-a-dozen people who are suspected to be involved in the shooting incident.
Once they succeed to get strong evidence in connection to the firing incident,” said the police official.
