Jamshedpur, August 30: Gulmohur High School, a pillar of education in Jamshedpur for seven decades, marked its 70th anniversary with a spectacular interschool event titled ‘Horizon.’ The celebration, which brought together students from 25 schools, was a vibrant showcase of creativity, collaboration, and talent, reflecting the school’s illustrious history.

The event featured a series of engaging activities that highlighted educational and creative pursuits. Among the highlights were “The Jungle Jamboree,” “Friendship Fiesta,” “Nature’s Narrative,” “Dreamscape,” “Radio Rhapsody,” “Scholastic Spotlight,” and “Rangoli Razzmatazz.” A particularly memorable moment was the “Orchestra – A 70’s Fusion Fiesta,” where students from various schools performed a captivating blend of classic and modern music.

Distinguished guests, including Dr. Deepali Misra, an education consultant, and Ankur Gandotra, Head of TQM, Jamshedpur, attended the event as chief guests. They were joined by members of the school’s managing committee, who supported and encouraged the celebrations.
The program commenced with the traditional ‘Safety Pause’ and the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcoming speech. The festivities began with “Horizon Harmony,” a dynamic dance performance by students, and “Gulmohur Saga,” a dance drama narrating the school’s 70-year journey. This performance, celebrating Gulmohur’s milestones, received a standing ovation from the audience.
Another poignant moment was “70 Years of Unfading Beauty,” a choral recitation dedicated to the school’s enduring values and legacy. The event also featured inspiring speeches from the chief guests, who shared their insights and experiences, leaving a profound impact on the students.
Loyola School, Telco, won the championship trophy for their exceptional performances. The event’s success was attributed to the visionary leadership of Principal Priti Sinha and Vice Principal Archana Srivastava, along with the dedicated efforts of process owners Madhuchanda Sarkar, Minky Ojha, Justina Adhikari, Harita, and the entire Gulmohur High School faculty.
