Guest lecture on Geopolitics at Karim City College

Jamshedpur: The Geography Department of Karim City College, Sakchi, Jamshedpur, organized an insightful guest lecture on the topic “Pros and Cons of Geopolitics” today. The event aimed to educate students about the growing importance of geopolitics in global politics and international relations.

The keynote speaker for the program was Dr. Anwar Shahab, Head of the Department of Political Science, Karim City College, who shared his expert views on the topic. The event was presided over by Dr. Ale Ali, Head of the Department of Geography, who warmly welcomed the audience, including teachers, students, and the guest speaker.

In his introductory remarks, Dr. Ale Ali explained the significance of geopolitics, defining it as the study of the impact of geography on international politics and international relations. He emphasized that geopolitics is becoming increasingly crucial in understanding global politics due to the changing international landscape.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Anwar Shahab elaborated on the multifaceted nature of geopolitics. He stressed that in today’s interconnected world, it is impossible to fully grasp global political dynamics without examining them through different dimensions. “Geopolitics is a method of studying foreign policy that helps in understanding, interpreting, and predicting international political activities,” he stated.

Dr. Shahab also provided an in-depth analysis of current global political scenarios by discussing the geographical positions of various countries, enabling students to relate theoretical knowledge to real-world events. His engaging presentation made complex geopolitical concepts easy to understand, sparking curiosity among the students.

Following his speech, Dr. Shahab answered questions posed by the students, providing clear and satisfactory explanations, which further enhanced their understanding of the subject.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Inayat Bano, a professor in the Geography Department, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, and students for their active participation.

The program was attended by several distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Ejaz Ahmed, Dr. Iftikhar Nabi, Dr. Tanveer Jamal Kazmi, and Dr. Zaki Akhtar, along with a large number of enthusiastic students.
