Group clash over land dispute in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 13: Two groups clashed over land dispute on Thursday in Nirmal Basti of Sonari police station area.

 The residents of Nirmal Basti say that the land on which the people of Mahato community are claiming to be their own on that plot Durga Puja is being done on it for many years. Along with this, auto drivers park their autos and sit here.

Now Santoshi Mahato is saying that this is the land of her ancestors. If it is his father’s land, then he should show his papers. She is not showing the papers and is telling the land to be agricultural.

Sonari police station reached and both the sides were pacified. Both the parties have been called to the police station with their respective papers.

Here in Sonari Nirmal Nagar Basti, in front of the TOP, the Durga Puja ground organized by the Nirmal Nagar Public Durga Puja Committee, which has been running for years, was encroached upon by anti-social elements with bamboo.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the residents of Nirmal Nagar Basti held a meeting under the leadership of BJYM leader Abhishek Dey.  After this he went to Sonari police station and gave a memorandum.

It was decided that the puja committee would meet the Deputy Commissioner on Monday and submit its memorandum.
