Jamshedpur, Sep 5: Jharkhand State Khadi Board will be organising an eight day Khadi Mela at Gopal Maidan from September 17 to 24.
The ground breaking ceremony for the upcoming mela was held at the venue on September 5 in presence of Sanjay Seth, chairman, Jharkhand State Khadi Board, Board member Kulwant Singh Bunty and other dignitaries.
The exhibition-cum-sale of khadi and village industries products will see the participation of around 300 stalls put up by artisans, craftsmen, khadi institutions and Rural Employment Generation Programme units. Artists from different parts of the country will participate.
Items like khadi, wood crafts, terracotta, stone crafts, handlooms, jewellery, bamboo craft, metal craft, jute and tribal paintings among other items which will be on display for sale, said Sanjay Seth.
The products will be available at discount of 25 to 30 per cent.
The entry ticket for the mela will be Rs 10. However, entry for students coming with uniform will be free.
