Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Under the directives of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, the Green Card Rice Distribution Festival Day is scheduled to take place across all Public Distribution System shops in East Singhbhum district on October 18.
This initiative, in alignment with the Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme, aims to provide rice to green ration card holders.
To ensure the success of this program, a video conferencing meeting was conducted by the DC, where essential instructions were communicated to officials. The meeting included the participation of senior in-charges from all blocks, BDOs, COs, and MOs, who were connected through video conferencing.
Bhajantri emphasized that PDS shops are to open promptly at 8 am, with food grain distribution continuing throughout the day. In order to facilitate efficient distribution, the District Magistrate instructed BDOs and COs to coordinate with personnel at the block level, including Panchayat Sevak, Jan Sevak, AE, JE, light employee, and revenue employee, from each PDS dealer. This strategic tagging will enable effective monitoring of the distribution process.
Additionally, officials were directed to capture and share photographs of all PDS shops on a panchayat-wise basis. This reporting mechanism will aid in overseeing food grain distribution at the district level. To further ensure the smooth execution of the program, senior in-charges, BDOs, and COs from all blocks will be conducting on-site visits.
The DCi assured that all PDS shops will adhere to the 8 am opening time, and rice packets will be distributed to eligible green ration card holders. Furthermore, the Public Distribution System shops will continue operations beyond the usual closing time of 2 pm. The District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner expressed his commitment to personally inspect PDS shops to ensure the effective implementation of the Green Card Rice Distribution Festival Day.
