Grand Lakshmi Narayan Mahayagya to begin in Jamshedpur on April 23

Jamshedpur: A nine-day Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mahayagya will be organised from April 23 to May 1, 2026, at the Community Development Bhavan ground in New Cable Town under the Golmuri area. The organising committee shared detailed information about the religious event during a press conference held at the venue on Sunday.

The press briefing was attended by chief organiser Anil Thakur along with Ramrekha Singh, Ramakant Singh, Rambabu Tiwari, Bipin Jha, Ramswaroop Singh, Prem Jha, Pratap Yadav and other committee members. They appealed to the residents of the city to participate in large numbers in the spiritual programme.

Rambabu Tiwari informed that the nine-day Mahayagya will be held under the spiritual guidance of Gurudev Paramshraddheya Shri Shri 108 Jai Mangala Baba. The event will begin on April 23 with a grand Kalash Yatra, which will start from the Lakshmi Narayan Temple (Birla Temple) in Old Cable Town and proceed to the Yagya venue. A large number of devotees, especially women, are expected to participate.

From April 23 to April 30, daily bhajans, kirtans and spiritual discourses will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The main Yagya, Purnahuti and distribution of Mahaprasad will take place on May 1. On the same day, a Ramarcha Puja will also be conducted from 9:00 am.

Chief organiser Anil Thakur said that a grand 30×30-foot Yagyashala with a five-tier structure is being constructed at the venue. Renowned Yagyacharya Pandit Lal Mohan Shastri from Varanasi, along with a team of 21 priests, will conduct the rituals. The venue will be decorated with idols of 108 deities, and artisans from Vaishali in Bihar have been specially invited for the construction work.

A large community feast (Bhandara) will also be organised throughout the nine days for devotees. The committee also released the event poster during the press conference. The Bhoomi Pujan for the Yagyashala will be performed on Monday morning at 8:00 am with Vedic chants.

The organising committee appealed to all devotees in the city to participate and seek spiritual blessings during the Mahayagya.
