Jamshedpur, Oct 14: The Sakchi Gurudwara Managing Committee is eagerly preparing for the Nagar Kirtan to mark the 555th Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on Nov 15. Members of the committee have expressed their excitement, with plans to welcome Palki Sahib with colourful fireworks and a shower of flowers. During a meeting on Sunday, it was decided to make the celebration grand and unforgettable.
Nishan Singh, head of the Gurudwara, announced that the welcome of Palki Sahib will include spectacular fireworks and urged the entire Sikh community (Sangat) in Jamshedpur to witness this memorable event. Sukhwinder Singh Nikku also mentioned that at the end of the Nagar Kirtan, a grand shower of flowers will take place at the Sakchi Gurudwara.
Suggestions were made by Balbir Singh, Surjit Singh Chhite, and Trilochan Singh Tochi for the smooth arrangement of the langar (community meal). The Naujavan Sabha (youth group) will handle the Jode Ghar (shoe service). Nishan Singh mentioned that the langar service will be available only until 3 PM as most of the volunteers and committee members will join the Nagar Kirtan.
The meeting was attended by several key members, including Jitender Pal Kaur, Gurmeet Kaur, and various other committee officials. Secretary Surjit Singh Chhite delivered the vote of thanks, concluding the meeting with a sense of anticipation for the upcoming celebrations.
