Grand Banga Festival in Jamshedpur on Jan 28

Jamshedpur, Jan 24: The Banga Utsav Samiti Kolhan will organize the grand Bang Utsav at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur on Sunday, January 28. This was announced at a press meet organized at The Bengal Club on Wednesday. The day-long event will feature cultural programmes, literary session and discussions on rights of the community.

Several socio-cultural organizations will set up exhibitions and food stalls. The inaugural ceremony will be led by prominent guests from the Bengali community during the first phase of the program. The event will be followed by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.

The Banga Utsav Samiti President Achintam Gupta mentioned that the event was expected to be attended by more than two lakh members of the Bengali fraternity and those coming from rural areas would be provided free meals.

Giving highlights of the Banga Utsav proceedings, Achintam said that musical presentations like Baul and other folk songs of Bengal will be presented by expert and renowned performers like Badal Paul, Anushka Patra, and Rahul Sinha, along with Banga-speaking artistes from nearby areas.
