Jamshedpur: Grade IV Railway staff may soon become station masters in the four divisions of South Eastern Railway Zone. Sources said the Railway department has announced dates for departmental exams to fill the vacancies on the post of station mater in the South Eastern Railway Zone. There are more than 225 vacancies in the four divisions. In Chakradharpur division alone, there are more than 130 vacancies at the 75 odd stations. Very soon, Chakradharpur division will get 87 new station masters. At present, there are 50 station masters at Tatanagar, 30 at Adityapur, 16 at Salgajhuri and 10 at Asanbani. The secretary of All India Station Master Union Pankaj Jha said more station masters were needed for every railway division and major railway stations. He said a divisional committee had been formed to appoint more station masters.
