Martyrs dependents to be identified and linked with benefits: Soren

Chaibasa, September 8:  Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren urged to take a pledge to make Jharkhand as per the dreams and aspiration of martyrs.

Addressing a meeting at Gua  in Noamundi block of West Singhbhum district on Friday to mark the martyrdom of Gua firing, Hemant  Soren said, “ Let us take a pledge to build Jharkhand of dreams of the martyrs.”.

Soren garlanded the martyrs at the site.

The Chief Minister remembered ancestors who fought a long battle against the British rule, exploitation, oppression and others at different times and to protect water, forest and land.

“It is the result of the struggle they waged that the existence of tribals and indigenous people continues today,’ said Soren.

The Chief Minister said that their government is committed to honour the brave martyrs by identifying their dependents and those who lived a life of anonymity along with the agitators of separate state of Jharkhand.

“We have already started connecting  the dependents of martyrs with various government schemes along with jobs and pension,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that after the formation of their government despite hurdles like Covid pandemic and drought they have brought up schemes for every class and every section.

“In the last three and a half years, amidst all the challenges, our government has drawn a long streak of development. This process will continue continuously,” said Soren.

“The government has decided to provide pucca houses to all the homeless. Abua Awas Yojana will be started very soon, so that people’s dream of own house can come true,” he announced.

The Chief Minister said that the government has special emphasis on the improvement of education. Excellent schools have been opened in this connection. Scholarship amount has been increased. Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana is being run for girls. The government is providing assistance for everything from preparation for competitive exams to courses like medical and engineering.

The Chief Minister said that the Manki-Munda traditional system is a strong link of the tribal community and they are the leader of the society and said that government  is further strengthening the system, so that the society can get maximum benefit from it.

He distributed bikes amongst manki mundas.

The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 126 schemes at a cost of Rs 406,11,58,300 crore.

In this, the foundation of 95 schemes costing Rs 367 crore  while 31 schemes costing over Rs 38 crore were inaugurated .
