Jamshedpur: With an alarming average of 50 new cases being reported daily, authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to curb the outbreak.
Dengue, a viral illness transmitted by the Aedes mosquito, has seen a rapid uptick in cases in recent weeks, necessitating swift and decisive action. The District Administration has launched an extensive prevention drive that includes anti-larva spraying in key areas, rigorous cleanliness campaigns to eliminate breeding sites, and public awareness campaigns urging citizens to take preventive measures.
Health officials and medical teams have been deployed to affected areas to provide immediate medical attention to those affected by the virus. Additionally, teams are conducting thorough inspections of residential areas to identify and eliminate potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
In light of the rising cases, local hospitals and healthcare facilities have been placed on high alert, with additional resources allocated to handle the surge in patients. District health authorities have also urged citizens to take personal precautions, including using mosquito nets, wearing protective clothing, and keeping their surroundings free from stagnant water.
The District Administration remains committed to controlling the dengue outbreak and safeguarding the health of its residents. Public cooperation and proactive measures are crucial in this collective effort to mitigate the spread of the disease and protect the community from further harm.
In response to the directives of District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, the district administration has launched an intensive campaign to combat and prevent the outbreak of dengue. The focus of these efforts encompasses various measures aimed at eradicating the breeding grounds of disease-carrying mosquitoes and raising public awareness.
One of the pivotal initiatives includes anti-larva spraying in municipal areas, a crucial step in curbing the spread of dengue. As part of a broader cleanliness drive, public spaces, residences, and institutions are undergoing thorough cleaning procedures. Fogging operations are also in full swing to mitigate the mosquito population and, consequently, mosquito-borne diseases.
In a proactive approach, a task force team has been assigned the task of meticulously inspecting the homes and vicinity of individuals who have tested positive for dengue. This is followed by comprehensive testing and sanitization procedures at various locations. Any identification of dengue larvae in residential areas, establishments, or shops is met with strict enforcement of penalties. Furthermore, waterlogged areas are being cleared, and bleaching powder is being judiciously employed to minimize the risk of dengue transmission.
Emphasizing the importance of public awareness, Bhajantri underscored the necessity of educating the community about the dangers of dengue. He urged residents to prevent the accumulation of water in containers such as coolers, pots, tires, and bottles, and to wear long-sleeved clothing as a preventive measure. He also encouraged the consistent use of mosquito nets and advised individuals displaying dengue symptoms to seek immediate medical attention at the nearest medical center.
