Jamshedpur, August 23: Dr Ajoy Kumar, a permanent invitee of Congress Working Committee and former MP of Jamshedpur, has written a letter to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren requesting the state government to distribute smart phones to the poor children of Jharkhand along with suitable internet facility for each phone so that the state’s children could participate in online classes for proper education. “After all, these children are the future of our state and nation,” Dr Kumar contended in his letter.

Dr. Ajoy Kumar in his letter stated, “We are all are passing through difficult times due to the pandemic and education of our children has been adversely affected, especially of the poor children different villages of Jharkhand. It is sad that these children in the villages of Jharkhand are not able to do their online classes due to lack of smart phones as their families are unable to pay for internet facilities even after providing a few of the children with smart phones. As a result the poor children in government schools are being deprived of their education and waiting for the schools to reopen. But with the possibility of a COVID third wave, it seems that even government schools in Jharkhand will not reopen in consideration of their safety.”
