Jamshedpur, March 4: State Government has signed an MoU with IIM Ahmadabad to develop an Innovation Hub in the state with institutions as its spokes to develop the startup ecosystem in the state.
As part of the initiative Government under Jharkhand Innovation Lab initiative will be setting incubation centres in cities like Jamshedpur and Dhanbad.
Addressing the inaugural session of Startup Conclave East�17 at Beldih Club on Saturday, Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Secretary to the Chief Minister and secretary IT, said that the Government focused on creating start-up ecosystem where anyone with an idea should feel encouraged to start his own venture and become job creator instead of job seeker. This will help India to grow in different directions.
Barnwal further added, �It is our responsibility to change the mindset of people coming from rural background and inculcate startup culture in them right from childhood.�
The IT Secretary went on to observe that the policy of the state for startups is one of the best in the country and that the government is committed to support the startup ecosystem.
He said that the main emphasis of the startup policy in the state is to promote new ideas and make them commercially viable. He said the startups need adequate support from the government, the institutions and the corporate sector.
