Govt schools in dist closed due to non-availability of teachers

Jamshedpur, March 16: Archan Prakash Mandal, a resident of Jamda village under Kowali police station area in East Singhbhum, has written to the Sunil Kumar Burnwal, the principal secretary to Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, about the closure of the Jamda Primary School in Potka block owing to lack of teacher.

In his letter, Mandal said that initially the government school had three teachers, Rani Sima Kujur, Krishna Chandra Kar and Karuna Kumari.K aruna Kumari joined the school in February 2016.

However, following the recent transfer of the teachers, all the teachers from Jamda Primary School were shifted to other schools. As a result, there is no teacher at this school since March 2016.

Annual examination of the government schools is conducted in the month of March. Since the school is closed, the students will not be able to answer their annual examination, he pointed out. Moreover, the students are also not receiving the mid-day meal.

According to Mandal, Jamda Primary School is not the only school in the region facing this peculiar situation. He noted that currently there is no teacher at the Jhagarsai Primary School, Potka, Pitidiri Primary School, Potka, and Latiya Primary School, Musabani.

Mandal has urged Burnwal to look into the matter and ensure quick measures to restore the functioning of the schools by posting teachers at the earliest.
