Jamshedpur: Rajya Sabha MP and senior Congress leader Pradip Kumar Balmuchu today asked Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das to give a detailed account of the gains Jharkhand made from his recently concluded US visit.

Questioning the CM on his foreign tour with the senior bureaucrats of the state, Balmuchu alleged that the state government was making contradictory statements on the development of the state and utilization of its natural resources including its huge mineral reserves.

He said the government had invited investors to the state despite the closure of 22 mines in the state. He said the government was doing nothing to open these mines and was pretending to invite foreign investors to exploit the natural resources of Jharkhand.

The CM should tell the people of the state as to how many investors did he meet during his foreign tour and how many MoUs were signed with the total amount of investments proposed by the foreign investors, said the MP.

Balmuchu said the government had done nothing to revive the Indian Cable Company, Tayo Limited, Abhijeet Steel company and bring back Mittal and Jindal.

Land has not been given to Bhushan Steel till date, he said, adding that investors could not be invited to the state without doing the ground work to make the state investor-friendly.

Balmuchu further criticized the state government for the incident of killing of four persons in police firing in Hazaribagh.

He said that even in Kashmir, pellets are first used by the security forces to disperse mob. But in Jharkhand, police resort to firing without taking any alternative route to reinstate peace, he alleged.
