Jamshedpur: Govind Vidyalaya, Tamulia celebrated its Annual Sports Day on December 20, 2025, with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, teachers and parents. The school campus came alive with excitement as students displayed their sporting skills and competitive spirit in various events.
The sports programme included track events such as 100-metre and 200-metre races, a 400-metre relay and several fun activities like balloon bursting, partner race, spoon and marble race and the popular “get ready for school” race. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, renowned athlete master Avtar Singh, along with school secretary Abhishek Sharma, Principal Krishna Modak, HOD Naushad Razia, Senior Coordinator Harvinder Kaur, Junior Coordinator Shabana Parveen, PRO Rajesh Sharma and Hindi medium Principal Sunita Tripathi, through a ceremonial balloon release.
Addressing the students, Avtar Singh highlighted the importance of hard work, discipline and perseverance in achieving success in both sports and life. The guests later distributed prizes to the winners and encouraged students to pursue sports with dedication.
Among the four houses, Lotus House emerged as the overall champion, while Daffodil House secured the runner-up position. Sunita Mahato of Class XII and Anand Kumar were declared the Best Athletes of the Year.
The programme was smoothly anchored by Shikha Singh, with Zakia Tasneem and Shams Naaz coordinating the proceedings. Nishad Shabbir delivered the vote of thanks. The event’s success was credited to the efforts of sports teachers Narayan Mandal and Gokul Anand Mishra, along with the cooperation of teachers and parents.
