Ranchi, Sept. 26: On a visit to the Central Institute of Psychiatry, Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu here on Monday said that the institute should be developed into a world level institute as patients from all over the nation came here for treatment.
The governor was accorded a warm welcome by the director of CIP, D Ram, who introduced her to other senior doctors. She inspected mechanized laundry, teaching block, library, computer center, S S Raju Drug De-addiction center, male-female occupational therapy unit, L P Verma Female Ward, Kitchen and professional treatment department.
While inspecting the professional treatment department, the governor appreciated carpentry and painting of the patients. She said that after their recovery, they will be self dependent. She also interacted with the patients and wished them early recovery.
During the inspection of the kitchen, the governor praised the automatic roti�making machine and sanitation maintained there.
She also went to Erna Hoch Center for Child Adolescent Psychiatry and talked with the children. During her inspection of S.S. Raju Center of Addiction, she was informed about the various activities of the centre by Dr R J Khess.
