Governor to bless couples at mass marriage in Jamshedpur on Nov 25

Jamshedpur: Social organisation Samdhan is geared up to organise annual mass marriage for less privileged couples on November 25 at Sidhgora Town Hall. Fifteen such couples will participate in wedding rituals.

From 2015 Samadhan has been organising mass marriage for those couples who cannot afford the expenses of a marriage. This year too the organisation has chosen 15 eligible couples whose wedding ceremony will be performed. The chief guest of the function will be Governor Droupadi Murmu.

Dinesh Kumar, patron of Samadhan said that this is one of the many nobel activities that they conduct during the year. This is the fourth consecutive year where couples will be married off in a mass marriage ceremony. The idea is to spread awareness in the society.In an attempt to spread eco-friendly message from the wedding, the 15 grooms will come to the wedding venue in e-rickshaws.

Samadhan has also included pre-marriage rituals such as mehendi and sangeet. The NGO will also give gifts to set up a new home. Thus, each couple will get almirah, suitcase, wrist watch and set of 111 utensils. Each bride will get silver jewellery and set of five saris. The members of the NGO visited of all applicants to verify their family backgrounds and financial status before finalizing them.

The 15 couples who will be part of the mass marriage include Kasinath Sardar (Nagadih) weds Gurubari Sardar (Bada Gamharia), Pradeep Karmakar (Harharguttu) weds Ruma Lohar (Seraiklea), Sukhdev Paan (Chaibasa) weds Shakuntala Patra (Chaibasa), Naveen Kumar Munda (Bagunnagar) weds Sarita Pariya (Sitaramdera), Ravi Prasad (Ramnagar) weds Sonia Munda (Ramnagar, Kadma), Sonu Singh Yadav (Sitaramdera) weds Shilpa Kujur (Sitaramdera), Vivek Bhuiyan (Sitaramdera) weds Kunti Kumari (Sitaramdera), Ranjeet Sardar (Potka) weds Renuka Sardar (Ghagidih), Ghanshyam Kesari (Donkasai) weds Tapaswini Patra (Donkasai), Sogar Pariya (Barkundia) weds Kariban Singh (Harina), Ram Pariya (Kursi) weds Rakhi Devgan (Karkundiya), Ravi Pan (Dalki) weds Reena Das (Bada Lagiya), Nimai Sabar (Khariakocha) weds Manjri (Khariakocha), Madan Kumar Das (Bada Lagiya) weds Geeta Pan (Jhikpani), and Nedya Chatomba (Haat Gamharia) weds Suru Purti (Noamundi).
