Ranchi: Expressing concern over All India Police Archery Championship 2016, Jharkhand governor Draupadi Murmu today said that it was a proud moment for Jharkhand to host this championship.
She said that the first championship was also hosted by Jharkhand in 2012. Wishing the participants of the competition best of luck for their success, she said that the 300 participants from 23 states and Union Territories should go all-out to do their level best in the archery competition.
Murmu said that she personally knew that the routine of the police personnel was very tight and challenging. Cops face various types of challenges and tensions and find a way out even in difficult situations. Despite their busy schedule, they take interest in sports activities, giving inspiration to others.
Physical activity based competitions should be organized in the police department which develop mind and character. They also help in creating an environment of discipline. Archery has given us identity on world level. Deepika and Jhanu Hansda and other players have won medals for Jharkhand and made the nation proud of them.
The governor said that the people of the state take deep interest in sports and games. She expressed her happiness over establishing gym for the Armed Forces. She hoped that the DGP will put in earnest endeavour in this direction. She also thanked all the members of the organizing committee.
