Ranchi: Governor Syed Amhed called up on the youth to inculcate discipline and re-dedicate themselves for nation building. He said that youths and the students must channel their hidden potential in a constructive and creative manner to take the country forward.
The Governor was addressing the NCC cadets at a function titled �At Home Function� held today at Raj Bhavan. Others who were present on the occasion were chief secretary of the Governor Dr Nitin Madam Kulkarni, secretary, sports, arts and culture and youth affairs, Bandana Dadel, ADG, major general (NCC), Sanjay Sharan and senior officers from the armed forces.
The Governor on the occasion congratulated the NCC cadets from Bihar and Jharkhand who had participated in Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. He said the country has great expectations from the youths who can guide the nation in right direction by setting examples themselves.
Ahmed said that the NCC had been constituted with the objective of building leadership ability in students, to build character, team spirit, cooperation and to inculcate spirit of social service, patriotism and discipline among the cadets. The NCC wings encourage the cadets to set examples in public life and to work dedicatedly in the hours of crisis.
The Governor further added that the NCC cadets besides their academic activities also contribute to various social activities and awareness drives. The cadets reach out to the people with assistance during times of natural disasters, he said.
The Governor on the occasion asked the cadets to remain committed to assist the government and society at large against the challenges of malnutrition, illiteracy, poverty, diseases and violence.
On the occasion Syed Ahmed gave away prizes to Amrit Raj, Puja Kumari, Sunil Kumar, Madhuresh Kumar, Richa Tiwary, Vivek Kumar, Soumya Prakash, Rahul Kumar and other outstanding cadets for their achievements.
