Governor and CM pay tributes to Mahatma

Ranchi: Governor Syed Ahmed and Chief Minister Raghubar Das floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Morabadi Ground on his death anniversary.

Two-minute silence was also observed in memory of the Father of the Nation.

On the occasion Raghubar Das said that the countrymen ought to seek inspiration from life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi.

The whole world acknowledged the contributions of Gandhi as he had taken the path of non-violence for freedom of the country, he said.

The CM urged the misguided elements to follow the path shown by Mahatma and abjure violence. �Non-violence is the path of peace.

Nothing fruitful has ever achieved by violence. One can face every challenge by adopting the principles of truth and non-violence advocated by Mahatma Gandhi.

On this day everyone should take the pledge to work for nation building following the path shown by Gandhi,� Das said, adding Swadeshi must be promoted to make the country self-reliant.

On the occasion the Governor and the CM also tried their hands on Charka. Patriotic songs were also played out by the team of Bipul Nayak.

Others including Khadi Board Chairman Jainandu, sub-divisional commissioner Ranchi, SSP, Ranchi were present on the occasion.
