Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s MLA from Littipara Anil Murmu died at Karhardil village in Dumka on Tuesday. He was 46.
Murmu, who represented Littipara assembly, was admitted to Dumka Sadar Hospital in a critical condition with low blood pressure. The doctors of the hospital attended upon him and declared him dead, sources said.
Condoling the sudden demise of the legislator, Governor Draupadi Murmu today said that Jharkhand has lost a combatant leader. She remembered Murmu as a leader of the poor, deprived and marginalized people. She prayed to God to extend him peace in his heavenly abode.
Expressing grief on hearing the news, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said Jharkhand has lost a good leader.
State Welfare Minister Louis Marandi will be representing state government during the funeral of the deceased legislator.
