Ranchi, Sept 27: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday condoled the death of former Governor of Jharkhand and Manipur Governor, Dr. Syed Ahmad.
Draupadi Murmu said that he was a simple, gentle & soft-spoken person. He was committed for the development of the state & remained constantly keen & effortful for development of the universities.
He was a scholar of Urdu. She prayed to God to give rest to his soul. On the occasion, Raghubar said, Dr. Ahmed will always be in the memory of the people of Jharkhand. Referring to him as an able administrator & educationist, he said that he had good command over Hindi, English, Marathi, Urdu, Arabi & Farsi.
He wrote many books & was a member of Central Haj Committee, Maharashtra State Haj Committee & Central Wakf Committee. He visited Iran, Syria & Saudi Arab in the capacity of Member, Haj Delegation, Govt. of India. Presently, he was Governor of Manipur.
The CM said that he started the preservation of Audrey House during his tenure as Governor of Jharkhand. Now it is ready as Heritage Building & Cultural Center. ‘May his soul rest in peace’, he said.
As soon as the CM got the news of his sad demise during Karma Milan Samaroh in Dr. Ramdayal Munda Football Stadium, he offered his homage to the departed soul by observing silence for two minutes.
