Seraikela: A district level Chief Minister Invitational Football Competition was organized at Birsa Stadium in Seraikela under the aegis of the Department of Tourism, Art and Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Jharkhand government, on Monday. It was inaugurated by state Urban Development and Transport Minister CP Singh.
In his address, the minister said the government had organized the invitational football event with the view to hone local sporting talents and provide them bigger platforms at national and international level events. He said the government was promoting sports in the state. He added that sports should be made an integral part of life as it was good for health. He said a personís development was incomplete without sports. He stressed on developing sportsmanship in the youth.
Also present on the occasion was the Ichagarh MLA Sadhucharan Mahato, DC Chhavi Ranjan, DDC Akansha Ranjan, Zila Parishad president Shakuntala Mahali, district BJP president Uday Singhdeo, Zila Parishad vice president Ashok Sahu and vice president of Adityapur Municipal Corporation Binod Srivastava.
