CM dedicates Sakchi Mini Bus Depot to citizens
Jamshedpur, Nov. 6: Chief Minister Raghubar Das dedicated the Mini Bus Depot to the citizens of Jamshedpur in the presence of Bidyut Baran Mahato, MP, Jamshedpur, Anand Sen, President TQM & Steel Business, Tata Steel and other eminent citizens of the city on Tuesday. He lauded the efforts of Tata Steel in creating this state of the art Sakchi Mini Bus Stand while dedicating it to the citizens of Jamshedpur. This has improved quality of life and eased traffic congestion in Sakchi.
In his inaugural address, the CM said that Tata Steel�s role in betterment of civic amenities in the steel city is always commendable. �I Congratulate Tata Steel for giving this new mini bus terminus. Government is open to adopt more such projects on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis,� he said.
Sen said that the company holds survey on quality of life of citizens of Jamshedpur every year. �Tata Steel always strives to improve the facilities in the city. The project will help in decongestion of city roads,� he said.
The Sakchi Mini Bus Depot was relocated from its earlier location near Jamshedpur Eye Hospital roundabout to decongest that area. The Depot has a well-designed layout with 12 departure bus stops (one for each route) and 4 arrival bus stops. It also has washrooms for ladies, gents and the uniquely-abled persons. The Bus Depot has a provision to extend the number of routes to 18 from 12, in future. The Bus Depot handles around 50,000 passengers per day.
�Tata Steel conducts Quality of Life survey at Jamshedpur every year to identify opportunities for improvement in the city. Over the years, two of the most often cited areas for improvement have been decongestion of city roads and connectivity with NH33. Over the years, Tata Steel and Govt of Jharkhand have jointly addressed these issues and Tata Steel has worked extensively on decongesting several city roads by widening them. These include � Inner Circle Road, Straight Mile Road, Kharkai Link Road, Subernarekha Link Road, Kadani Road, Nildih Road, N-Road and Outer Circle Road to name a few,� said a company spokesperson.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included Amit Kumar, DC East Singhbhum, Anup Birthare, Senior SP, R Ravi Prasad, President Tata Workers� Union, Rituraj Sinha, Chief Corporate Administration, Tata Steel, and Tarun Daga, MD JUSCO.
