Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha supremo Babulal Marandi today said that the state government should immediately announce its domicile policy.
He said the state government had not taken any step to implement the domicile policy despite the passage of 100 days of its existence. He said the government should either formulate its own policy or adopt one already in existence in other states.
Marandi was speaking to mediapersons on his visit to the city on Tuesday. He said he wanted to implement the policies of year 1982 and 1986 implemented in Bihar during his regime.
He said he had put up a proposal in this regard after holding an all-party meeting on the issue. A decision was also taken on the issue. No changes were brought about. Despite that, much hullaballoo was raised on the domicile issue, he said.
Marandi said he was ready to resign the political life in case it were proved that the proposed domicile policy moved by his government was any different from the policy implemented in Bihar save for the changes in the names of Bihar and Patna effected by a replacement with the terms Jharkhand and Ranchi.
Marandi further said that the law and order situation in the state was constantly on the decline in the state. He said the problems of extremism and crime were being faced for a long time in the state.
Marandi said his party will be fielding candidates on all 14 Loksabha seats of the state. He said the names of candidates were not yet decided.
