Jamshedpur, June 21: East Singhbhum district administration has started preparation for the International Yoga Day function to be held in Jamshedpur on June 21. Around two thousand people will be invited for event to be held in Gopal Maidan, Bistupur.
Chief Guest for the function will be state food and civil supplies Minister Saryu Rai were MP Vidhut Varan Mahato will be present as the guest of honour. The Yoga day programme will kick off at 6 am.
Ahead of the event, Additional Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathy gave necessary instructions through Video conference to the administration.
DC Amit Kumar held a meeting with the district officials at Zilla Parsihad conference hall on Thursday. DC said that Yoga is becoming popular among the citizens and for a healthy living people are including Yoga in their day to day life. Third International Yoga Day function will be held at district level I Gopal Maidan on June 21.
Amit Kumar gave orders for making arrangements for around 2000 people at the venue along with special attention to convenience of the people, movable toilets, cleanliness and drinking water facilities at the Yoga venue. The district administration officials and workers have been told to be present during the function.
DC Amit Kumar handed over the responsibilities for the Yoga Say function to the senior police officers, civil surgeon, district education officer, district superintendent of education, district sports officer and district welfare officer. Yiga Day invitation will be given to police, school, college, NSS, Nehru Yuva kendra, NCC, district panchayat representatives and others. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sk Jha has been made the nodal officer.
Ahead of the main Yoga day event on June 21, a yoga training session will be held on 19 and 20 June for which the district administration is in search for indoor place so that rain doesn�t play spoil sport. Yoga trainers from Patanjali and Art of Living will provide training to the people. DC went on to say that Yiga Day function will be held in district, block and panchayat level and people from all walks of life are invited.
Also present at the meeting were ADC Sunil Kumar, ADM (Law and Order) Subodh Kumar. Meso officer Parmeshwar Bhagat, NREP Director Ranjana Mishra, DRDA Director Uma Mahato, Civil Surgeon SK Jha, Special officers of Jamshedpur and Mango Notified areas, Art of Living’s Ajay Kumar and others.
