Golu, Fatima win Chess contest at Karim City College

Jamshedpur, Nov. 30: Karim City College organised two-day indoor games competition at the college premises on 29 and 30 November.

At the competition 250 students participated in chess, carom and table tennis.

On the concluding day of the tournament winners of different sporting events were awarded by the principal of the school Md. Zakaria. In Chess (Boys) Golu Rajak was first while Mani Shankar was second. In Chess (Girls) Fatima Johra was first followed by Amrin Begam.

In Carom (Boys) Shabbir Hasan and Md. Faizan won the tournament while Md. Nadeem and Md. Shakib were the runners-up. In Carom (Girls) Sana Nishat and Kumari Manisha was first followed by Rashika Jain and Gule Shiri Fatima. In table Tennis (Boys) Vishal Kumar won the first prize while Aniket Kumar was second.

In table Tennis (Girls) Shruti Mahanand was first while Simran Kumar was second. College’s sports head Dr. Anwar Ali welcomed all and said, the participants have increased compared to last year and girls participation has increased a lot.

He conducted the entire competition. Guests for the chess contest were Jayant Bhuiyan and A Kumar while for Chess, BT Rav was present for carom while AK Dasgupta was present for table tennis. Other guests at the sports competition were Dr. Md. Reyaz, Dr. Indrasen Singh, Feroz Ibrahim, Mushtaq Ahmed, Aftab Alam Ansari and Syed Sajid Parwez.
