Golden opportunity for Jharkhand to leapfrog into IT: Sunil Bhaskaran

Jamshedpur, Oct. 31: The second day of the seminar on �Digital Jharkhand 2015� was attended by many eminent speakers, Chief Executives of all the major industries in the state.

The three day seminar is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Jharkhand and Computer Society of India (CSI), Jamshedpur Chapter at Gopal Maidan, Jamshedpur.

Speaking about �Smart Living� Mr. Bhaskaran said �Technology has become a very intricate part of our lives largely driven by the mobile penetration and backend supported by entire development in IT space. This large change in the industry development is making things easier and accessible for us. He added �Jharkhand now has the golden opportunity to leapfrog into IT and infrastructure development�.

The third session was on �Smart Industry�. The opening remarks for the session was given by Mr BK Das, VP, Iron making, Tata Steel. Mr. Mark Ferguson, sales director, PSI Metal Group, spoke about Industries and Manufacturing.

Mr Pranab Ghosh, Head Planning, Tata Motors provided his thought on �Digital Manufacturing in Auto Industry�.

The post tea session saw Mr Suvradip Datta, yechnologist, Dassault Systems talk about �GEOVIA Strategic Mining Solutions� followed by a talk on �IT in Automotives by Mr Pawan Bagheria, Senior Vice President, manufacturing and IT practice, Tata Technogies Limited.

The programme was divided into three sessions. Session one was on �Smart Living�. Dr Chandan Choudhary, MD, Dassault Systems, spoke on the topic� Accelerating the growth of Jharkhand through Digital Transformation which was followed by talk on �Smarter Jamshedpur� by Mr Ashish Mathur, MD, Jusco. Dr Rajesh Singh, MD, Thinkstep India, gave a talk on IT & Environment.

�Digital Jharkhand� will show case the art and science of the possible, making it accessible to the investors, industrialists and government bodies.

The seminar and the exhibition will be attended by the State government policy makers, Chief Executives, of all the major industries in the state. All the major players of the digital technology space will showcase their digital innovations in this three day long programme.

It will offer participants to engage with thought leaders from government and industry to help re-imagine the Jharkhand of the future and would also provide a platform to showcase the innovation and the future plans to make a significant change in the society with the help of IT in Jharkhand.
