Gold chain snatched from woman at Galudih

Ghatshila, Feb 11: After a brief lull, the criminals are getting active in Galudih under Ghatshila subdivision area of East Singhbhum district. Sensation broke out in the area which has been quiet for some time on Friday when snatching a gold chain from the neck of an elderly woman managed to escape easily. Galudih police station is horrified to get the challenge of this chain snatching incident. The victim was a retired teacher living in Teachers Colony of Mahulia Panchayat of Galudih police station area.

Galudih police station started investigating the incident after reaching the spot of chain snatching incident. In connection with the incident, retired teacher Binoti Kumarin said that she was sunbathing outside the house with her husband Shashdhar Kumar. At the same time a young man riding a bike reached there. First he moved forward a little, then turned back and stood in front. The bike rider suddenly snatched the chain from her neck and ran away.

The incident of snatching the chain from the neck in broad daylight has caused panic among the local people. Usually such chain snatching incidents happen in urban areas. According to the local people, this is the first incident of snatching in the Galudih area. Now all the people are instructing the women of their house not to come out wearing chains and be alert.
