Jamshedpur: A coaching camp was inaugurated at Tata Chess Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex, on Monday under the aegis of All Jharkhand Chess Association under the All India Chess Federation’s coaching programme.
Grand Master Saptarshi Roy Choudhury will be imparting training to the selected players of the state for five days.
Saptarshi has won three international open at Canada, Greece, France, Germany and Belgium in his career. He was also the member of Indian Railways Team which won Gold in the World Railways meet in 2004.
Notable trainees are state Under-7 members Ishant and Pratibha Singh (both from Dhanbad, Ankana Kabiraj of East Singhbhum, Anshul Nigam, Vatsal Singhania, Pracheta Agarwal, Kumar Utkarsh all from East Singhbhum. There are in total 21 participants from 6 districts.
AJCA official’s, IM Neeraj Kumar Mishra, Working President, Pritam Singh, Hon. Secretary, Awadhes Kumar, joint secretary and ESDCA Officials N K Tiwary, Secretary, J K Bhuyan, Treasurer and Mrs. Purabi Ghosh were present to grace the ocasion.
