Global warming is accelerated by burning of fossils fuels and agricultural wastes

By Muneer Shamee

Climate change is a change in the Earth’s overall temperature which causes less by nature’s effect more by human activity around the world. Change of average weather condition around the world increase in humidity, sea and air temperature. Our earth is the combination of various gases like oxygen, nitrogen and other green house gases like carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane. The direct rays of sun fall upon the earth’s surface, the earth absorbs the heat and reflect the heat likewise in the space, but these green house gases trap the heat and sends it right back to the earth’s surface. Green House effect is the natural phenomenon but the larger heat absorption make the earth more warmer than before.  Burning of fossil fuel and agricultural wastes also warm our earth’s temperature.

In the last century Earth’s temperature has been increased considerably and approximately one degree centigrade. Climate changes cause disease like malaria, dengue fever and typhoid. Malaria carrying mosquitoes are the direct result of high temperature which thrive on constant rainfall and increased humidity. The main cause of malaria is the accumulated water bodies in our close proximity especially in rainy season when female of Anopheles transplant germs in our body. As a result we have high fever, excessive body pain and trembling. Typhoid is the common problem during uneven unhealthy circumstances causing fever, headache and physical illness. Viral fever is very common due to spreading of air borne virus in our body causing frequent sneezing, sore throat etc.

Gastroenteritis symptoms like diarrhoea, indigestion, stomache, belching, vomiting etc are common during climatic change. Many people suffer from Influenza which affect our respiratory tract. Hepatitis A which spread by the stool and other wastes of our body and easily get transferred to the other children which further results in Jaundice, indigestion and loss of appetite. As the sun heat rises up the dangerous cardiovascular issues, rising sea level and unpredictable weather change cause drought, flood, injury, property damage, loss of life, super cyclone, thunder and storms are frequent examples. Due to bacterial attack sea foods also contaminated leading to blood infection and trauma. Polluted air causes asthama and lung diseases. Various skin diseases occur due to the parasitic attack which causes intense itching, boils and blisters.

Due to unprecedented climate changes extreme weather, unhealthy air quality and extreme heat can result in heat stokes exhaustion, dehydration and death. Young children, grown adults and pregnant women are worsely affected by the climate change. Intolerable heat , ever causing flood and constant storm and cyclones put the peoples life and property at threat . Flood pollutes the fresh water bodies and has a negative impact on aquatic life as they release virus, toxic elements putting extra burden on health care services. It is really hard times what Charles Dickens has pointed out in his novel ‘Hard Times’.  Due to severe climate changes we are prone to anxiety, depression and mental torture even when we have no history of mental illness.

Proper hygiene should be maintained to avoid such a alarming disease, regular intake of fruit juice keep ourselves away from such a contagious disease. We can prevent Viral fever by avoiding ourselves in damp weather and rain. We can treat the viral symptoms by natural remedies. Use of boiled and filtered water helps in preventing various gastroenteritis problems. Influenza can be prevented by regular intake of nutritious and balanced diet in our food.  Mild Jaundice can be controlled by pure and safe drinking habits. Plant more and more trees to decrease the temperature levels. Upgrade the health related technologies to make people aware about the healthy habits and safe environment. We can control malarial impact by keeping away our child and adult from mosquitoes by using mosquito net, mosquito repellents and fully covering the body parts . We should also keep our surrounding clean and there shouldn’t be accumulation of water beside our premises. Skin disease can be prevented by proper washing of clothes and abstaining from affected person.
