Ranchi: BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Koderma today. He will be addressing more rallies in Jharkhand and Bihar.
Speaking to the people here, Modi said that the state’s resources were being looted. “People of Jharkhand are suffering because natural sources are being looted here,” he said. Hitting out at the Congress, Modi said that the government was making schemes in AC rooms, they have no connect with the people.
Modi said that the UPA government never distributed the food grains to the poor. “Instead they let the food grains rot, the food grains didn’t go to the poor. Instead they went to the alcohol makers at cheap prices,” he said.
“Election in Delhi is about capturing power, it is a narrow view of democracy,” he said. Wooing the voters, Modi said that for 60 years there was no change in the region. “If you give me 60 months, this sevak of yours assures you that the damage done for 60 years won’t be there anymore,” Modi said.
Modi then took a dig at Rahul Gandhi saying that ‘he is coming out with new statements everyday. “Shezaade says that we need many chowkidaars in the country. Look at the alliances that the Congress has. Will you trust them, they have been in and out of jail. Will you trust someone like Lalu Prasad Yadav,” he said. Urging the voters he said that this time they should emerge victorious with 300 seats.
It was Modi�s first Bharat Vijay Rally of the day at Jhumri Telaiya in Koderma today. Leaders of BJP Jharkhand also addressed the huge crowd that had gathered to listen to their favorite leader. Mr. Modi began his speech in a lighthearted way by praising the people of Jhumri Telaiya for being fond of music and sending maximum song requests on radio program for years together.
The crowd cheered loudly when he talked about natural resources of the state being looted for ages and now the people are suffering because of it. Modi talked about Gujarat government hosting a national farmers� convention where 12 farmers from Jharkhand were also felicitated. He added that the nation can�t run on the thinking power of just one it will run on the thinking power of all Indians.
He also said that when nation faced food crisis, it was Shastri Ji who gave the slogan �Jai Jawan Jai Kisan� and put faith on the people to bail the nation out. He said that he seeks the support of the people so that he can create better future of India by providing ample job opportunities for all.
Addressing a rally in Palamu, Modi criticised Congress president Sonia Gandhi and son Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav, JMM chief Shibu Soren and RJD president Lalu Prasad for practising “dynastic politics” and said it has no place in a democracy.
“The Congress is a party of mother and son, the SP is a father, son and daughter-in-law party, the RJD is a husband and wife party, the JMM is a father and son party,” Narendra Modi told an election rally here in Palamu district.
“Dynastic politics has no importance in a democracy,” he said.
Claiming that farmers in Uttar Pradesh were selling their livestock for money to marry off their daughters, Narendra Modi said, “The Centre is in pink revolution, exporting meat on subsidy.�
Modi accused regional parties of being “chowkidars of a corrupt government” in New Delhi and said, “The government at the Centre is a liability. Change it.”
Referring to the Palamu, a rain shadow area, Narendra Modi said even Gujarat had scanty rains, “but there is no problem for water.”
BJP has fielded former Jharkhand Police chief V D Ram from the Palamau (SC) constituency.
