Jamshedpur, June 19: Day Two of the CISCE Zonal Chess Championship, hosted at Loyola School, Telco, showcased the remarkable talent and focus of girl participants across U-14, U-17, and U-19 categories. The championship stood out as a celebration of strategic brilliance and calm determination.
The event was conducted under Chief Arbiter Jayanth Kumar and Assistant Arbiter Chandan, with significant support from Principal Charanjit Ohson, Administrator Fr. Gerry, Coordinators Reshma Rodrigues and Zeenat Maria Sundi, and sports teachers Supriya Karan, Kartik Mahato, and Azhar Khan.
Top 5 winners from each category (Girls) included (Under 19)
Saara Jain – Carmel Junior College, Siddhi Nagelia – DBMS English School, Samaira Abhishek Doshi – Loyola School, Ajuni Kaur – Sacred Heart Convent and Anjali Singh – Vig English School; (Under 17) Pragya Bhardwaj – J.H. Tarapore School, Advika Mohanty – Carmel Junior College, Shreya Dutta – Sacred Heart Convent, Srujanika Das – Sacred Heart Convent and Aastha Singh – J.H. Tarapore School; (Under-14) Bidushi Munshi – Hill Top School, Anushka Singh – Little Flower School, Eshani Choudhury – Tarapore School, Deepika Singh – Loyola School, Telco and Monali Biswas – Kerala Public School.
These top players will now move on to represent their zone in the CISCE Regional Chess Championship 2025. (w/gsd)
