Ravi Kumar reviews voter list revision in Ghatsila, visits remote polling stations
Ghatsila bypolls: Chief Electoral Officer orders identification of checkposts
Ghatsila, Sept 15: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K. Ravi Kumar reviewed preparations for the upcoming by-election in Ghatsila Assembly constituency and emphasized the Election Commission of India’s goal of ensuring that “no voter is left behind.” He urged all eligible voters whose names are not yet in the electoral roll to get themselves enrolled at the earliest.
A meeting was held at the Ghatsila Sub-Divisional Office in East Singhbhum district, where the CEO interacted with the District Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), BLO Supervisors, and other officials.

During the review, Ravi Kumar directed officials to identify and mark all checkposts within the constituency, including those in border areas, and prepare lists for the formation of Flying Squad Teams (FSTs) and other election-related cells. He instructed officers to remain in active mode, conduct physical inspections of polling stations, and ensure that all voter facilities are in place.

He further stressed the need for awareness campaigns to motivate citizens to add their names to the voter list and to exercise their right to vote in the by-election.
After the meeting, the CEO visited polling station number 189 at Prathmik Vidyalaya, Khejurdadi, located in Gudabanda block. He personally reviewed arrangements and spoke with the Booth Level Officer (BLO) about the progress of voter enrollment and facilities at the polling site.

Appreciating the BLO’s efforts, he noted that door-to-door visits were being carried out to collect forms from every household. He directed BLOs to carefully match each person with the electoral roll, enroll new voters, and prepare lists of voters who are either absent or deceased.
Ravi Kumar said such efforts are vital for the integrity of the electoral process, particularly in remote areas where reaching voters is often more challenging.
The review was attended by District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, Joint Chief Election Officer Subodh Kumar, Deputy Chief Election Officer Dev Das Dutta, DSP, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, along with EROs, AEROs, and other election-related staff.
