Ghatshila, Aug 22: Santali Department of Ghatshila College on Monday bid farewell to 70 students of UG final year. The event was organized in collaboration with students of UG Semester One and Semester 3.
The program began with paying tribute to Pandit Raghunath Murmu. Ghatsila BDO Kumar S Abhinav was present as the chief guest. He wished the students luck and asked them to keep the college flag flying high.
Distinguished Santali litterateur Bhujang Tudu present as the special guest was honored with Sahitya Academy Award.
Addressing the students, Tudu said that he himself has been a student of this college. By organizing such programs, the mutual attachment of students increases. He wished the students the best for future endevours.
Principal Dr RK Chaudhary stated that our students are very disciplined, well mannered, punctual and responsible citizens. Our college has developed a lot and created a image in Kolhan University.
Santhali department teachers Dr. Mahi Mardi, Basanti Mardi, Manik Mardi, students Sudam Hembram, Supai Soren, Ajit Murmu, Supai Singh Hansda, Lakhan Tudu, Ramu Soren, Rani Majhi, Sonaram Soren, Sakila Hansda, Tulsi Mardi, Viram Murmu, Ajit Murmu, Lakhai Murmu and others contributed inmaking the event successful.
On the occasion Prof. Indal Paswan, Dr. SK Singh, Dr. Sandeep Chandra, Dr. SP Singh, Dr. Ravi Ranjan Kumar, Prof. Mohammad Sajjad, Prof. Shankar Mahali, Lakhai Murmu and others were present.
