Jamshedpur: As part of the preparations for the 45-Ghatshila (ST) Assembly By-Election 2025, the second randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) was conducted on Thursday under the supervision of General Observer Rakhi Biswas and District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi. The process took place at the Collectorate auditorium in the presence of representatives of political parties and contesting candidates.
Before initiating the randomization, the procedure and guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission of India were explained in detail to all present. The randomization was carried out using a computerized system to ensure complete transparency and impartiality in the allocation process.
During this exercise, Ballot Units (BUs), Control Units (CUs), and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs), including reserve units, were distributed among all polling stations of the constituency. In total, 390 Ballot Units, 390 Control Units, and 420 VVPATs have been allocated for use across 300 polling stations in the Ghatshila Assembly area.
The process ensures that no one can predict or influence which EVMs will be used in which polling station, thereby maintaining the integrity of the election system.
Also present on the occasion were Returning Officer-cum-SDO Ghatshila Sunil Chandra, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, Officer-in-Charge of the EVM Cell Mohd. Mojahid Ansari, DIO Kishore Prasad, EDM Manish Prasad, and other senior officials.
