Jamshedpur, Feb. 17 : Vehicle movement through Jubilee Park has been banned from today for safety and security reasons.
Jusco has informed the district administration that the gates of Jubilee Park being closed for vehicular traffic from Feb 17 to March 7.
�We have informed the district administration about the decision on park�s gates being closed . This was necessary as some crucial electrical wirings and cables will be carried by large number of electricians and artisans from Chandannagore (Bengal) for illumination work to be carried out in view of Founder�s Day celebration and there are security and safety concerns not only for the artisans but also for commuters travelling on this road.
Though we are allowing pedestrians and morning walkers but after the wires are laid and structures are put up we will close the park for them too,� said an official of Jusco.
The Jubilee Park road links Sakchi with Circuit House, Northern Town and Sonari is used by over 25,000 vehicles daily. The road is used by students to reach elite cradles of the city like Sacred Heart Convent, Church School Beldih and Loyola School and also for reaching Jamshedpur Cooperative College.
A gift to the citizens of Jamshedpur by Tata Steel on the occasion of its golden jubilee in 1958, the 237.75- acre jubilee perk, modelled after Brindavan Gardens in Mysore, is considered the green heart of the city.
