Jamshedpur : After a brief lull, gun shots rattled the tranquility of the city again as seven bike-borne assailants shot dead a 36-year-old man at a lane on Gurudwara Road under Mango police station area on Thursday. The victim received three bullets in his chest.
The victim identified as Pashupatinath Dikshit alias Dabbu was a member of slain Paramjit Singh gang and had joined BJP just two days ago. The assailants attacked Dabbu while he was talking over a cell-phone near his house. The assailants had used nine MM pistol in the murder.
The family members rushed him to Tata Main Hospital where he succumbed to his gun-shot injuries. The police have picked up four persons suspected to be involved in the murder for interrogation.
As the news spread, city SP, Karthik S and deputy superintendent of police (headquarters-1) Birendra Prasad Yadav along with Mango officer-in-charge, Laxman Paswan rushed to the spot for inspection.
The police have picked up Jitendra Singh, Santosh Singh and Satyandra Singh after talking to the victim’s family members. Officer-in-charge, Mango said that they were recording the statement made by the victim’s son in connection to the murder.
” The family of the victim has made allegations of enmity. We are acting on the information given by the victim’s family members, We are carrying out separate investigation as Dabbu was an active member of Paramjit Singh gang and had enmity with the rival Akhilesh Singh gang,� said a police official.
According to sources, on one of the bike there were three pillion riders, where as on another bike two pillion riders. Those riding the bikes had put on helmets.
According to relatives, Dabbu who used to run a business of money-lending had two wives and seven children. Two days ago the victim had joined BJP as a worker of the party.
Sister-in-law of the murder victim said that Dabbu had enmity with a family who resided at the same locality.
