Canvas India Trade Fair to begin today, 468 stalls to attract customers

Jamshedpur : With the beginning of festive season, trade fairs have become buzzword in the city. City is now gearing up for a mega trade fair, �Canvas India-2014�.

Organised by Bangalore-based agency, Concern (India) Shows Private Ltd, the fair would kick-off tomorrow at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur. The fair would be held from September 12 to 23. BJP leader and former CM Arjun Munda will formally inaugurated the fair on September 13.

Addressing the media, Jyoti Kumar, managing director, Concern (India) Shows Private Ltd, said that the idea is to give better opportunities to customers and help companies to promote their brands.

He said that big brands will come all the way to woo the customers. From consumer electronics to apparels maker almost all the major players are participating in the fair and would come up with attractive offers. Over the years �Canvas India has become the favourite destination of the buyers.

This year about 468 stalls will be put up at the fair. A total of 305 companies from various sectors like automobiles, electronics, real estate , banking, telecom, IT and education will participate in the fair. A sizeable number of MNC’s have also confirmed participation at the fair.

A senior functionary of SCCI, Suresh Sonthalia said that several brands of consumer products on display, ranging from clothes to cars and from homes to home linen.

“We expect the footfall to cross 3 lakh at this year’s fair , which was organised before the Pujas with an aim to cash in on the festive fervour,” said Sonthalia. Last year rains due to an active monsoon had played spoil sports. The fair witnessed a footfall of about 2.5 lakh visitors.

This year the organisers have decided to provide free entry to students . ” We have written letters to all the schools and colleges in steel city to send their students at the fair. Our members would guide them and provide relevant information pertaining to entrepreneurship skills,” he said.
