FOUR ARRESTED, TWO PISTOLS REVERED

, Nov 5:In a major breakthrough four member of an inter-state gang of car-hijackers were arrested from Azadnagar in Mango, in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The police also recovered two pistols, a 6.7 mm magazine, and four cellphone from the possession of them. Superintendent of police (city) Kartik S said that acting on a tip off the police raided a place near Hareram Singh Maidan under Azadnagar police station.

As per our information there were several seven criminals trying to hide in a house. “As our team raided the house three of the criminals managed to scape while the rest four were nabbed.

We are trying to trace the location of those who fled the spot,” said Kartik. He said the criminals were nabbed while hatching a conspiracy to commit some grievous crime.

Those arrested have been identified as Mohammed Sahnawaz alias Monu, Mohammed Rafique Chutkuni, Mohammed Nazir, all residents of Azadnagar in Mango and Brajesh Kumar alias Bablu, a resident of Birsanagar.

The police have recovered a 6.7 mm magazine that one of the three who managed to arrest might have a pistol matching the confiscated magazine.

The pistols were recovered from the possession of Monu and Chutkuni, both were wanted in connection with the murder, robbery and loot cases espectively.

Revealing about the arrested the City SP pointed out that Monu, Chutkuni have a history of hijacking the
hired cars from other cities in Bengal and Bihar, and loot them after killing the driver.

The police, however, declined to reveal the name and whereabouts of those succeeded to flee. The City SP, when asked, said that those arrested would be forwarded to the judicial custody today, but the police would take all the four into police remand after a day or two.
