Jamshedpur, May 10: Kadma police arrested one person during a raid at a gambling den near Binapani Nursing Home on Tuesday. Several other gamblers fled the scene, cops said.
The accused was identified as Arjun Sona alias Gurdu, a resident of Ramjanam Nagar. An FIR was registered against him on the information of ASI Rajkumar Yadav. Cops seized Rs 450 and a mobile phone from the possession of the accused and forwarded him to judicial custody.
Youth attempts suicide after tiff with sister
Jamshedpur, May 10: A youth attempted suicide by drinking phenyl in his house after a quarrel with his sister at Road No 3, Mango, on Tuesday, police said.
The victim was taken to MGM Hospital where his condition was reportedly serious, cops said.
Police said the youth, identified as Mubarak, had an argument with his sister over lunch. Thereafter, he consumed phenyl in a fit of rage. His mother Anwari Begum and sister took him to hospital, police said.
Man acquitted in sexual exploitation case
Jamshedpur, May 10: The court of Additional District Judge IV Rajendra Kumar Sinha acquitted one Shekhar Tande alias Chandrashekhar from a case of alleged sexual exploitation of a 19 year-old girl on Tuesday.
The case dates back to August 2018 when the accused had allegedly taken the girl to a hotel in Jugsalai and established intimacy with her after promising to marry her. The accused also allegedly took the girl to a rented accommodation and exploited her physically. Later, the accused refused to marry her, the girl had alleged in her complaint.
