Renovated handball training centre opens
Jamshedpur, January 8: Newly renovated Handball Training Centre and Futsal facility was inaugurated by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Monday.

The futsal court, measuring 40m x 25m, features a dynamic stone sub-base, Tiger Turf Championship 50 synthetic turf, and FIFA-approved polyethylene monofilament with a rhomboid shape. Goalposts have been installed to meet international standards.

The handball court spans 43.92m x 24.45m with an asphalt sub-base by JUSCO and an acrylic hard court surface. Manufactured in Australia, the acrylic surface is ideal for ball bounce games like tennis, basketball, and handball.

The inauguration was attended by Sanjeev Choudhary, President, Tata Workers Union, Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports, Tata Steel, Vibhuti Dhand Adesara, Head Sports, Tata Steel, Hassan Imam Mallick, and other dignitaries. The upgraded facilities aim to enhance sports infrastructure and training opportunities in Jamshedpur.
