Jamshedpur, May 29: Harvinder Singh Jamshedpuri, a youth campaigner from Tatanagar, called for the central and state governments to establish a dedicated fund for the education of Sikh girls, ranging from primary to higher education. He emphasized the need for a special law to ensure that families do not face any form of compulsion or difficulty in providing education to their daughters. Particularly, he stressed the importance of focusing on girls attending middle schools.
In a statement issued on Monday, Jamshedpuri also urged Gurdwara committees to take proactive measures and allocate a fund specifically for the education of Sikh girls. He emphasized the significance of these committees in supporting and promoting the education of girls. Harvinder Jamshedpuri suggested that the various Gurdwara committees in Jharkhand should shoulder some of the responsibility for the education of Sikh girls. He recommended the creation of a separate fund within these committees, which would cover the expenses of educating girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
