Jamshedpur, July 18: Ajit Kumar, a resident of Mango Post Office Road, fell victim to fraud when his ATM card got stuck in a PNB ATM on Dimna Road. The incident occurred on Thursday, prompting Ajit to seek assistance as per instructions displayed near the ATM.
Upon calling the provided number for help, Ajit was asked for information, following which he received a message confirming three transactions totaling Rs. 30,000 deducted from his account in increments of Rs. 10,000 each.
According to Ajit, a woman selling vegetables nearby advised him to call the number displayed on the banner near the ATM for assistance. The person on the phone instructed Ajit to retrieve his card and visit another ATM. During this time, fraudulent transactions were made, including a purchase at a jewellery shop in Bistupur.
