Gamharia, May 13: Kandra witnessed a series of accidents on Saturday, with four separate incidents occurring within a span of four hours in the police station area, leaving four people injured. In the first accident, a motorcyclist was hit by a car coming from behind after the truck in front of him applied brakes near Kandra Morh. The injured youth, a resident of Kadma, was rushed to Jamshedpur hospital for treatment by the Kandra police who arrived on the scene.
The second incident took place near Pindrabeda turn on Tata-Kandra road at around 11 am, in which a bike rider hit a divider and sustained injuries. The local villagers rushed him to the hospital in an ambulance.
The third incident took place around noon near Kandra Mod, where a motorcyclist from Jugsalai was hit by another motorcyclist who fled the scene. Passers-by helped the traffic police to send the injured youth to the hospital for treatment.
The fourth incident took place on the Kandra Over Bridge around 1 pm, where a car hit the bike of Shibu Laik, a resident of Ichagarh, causing a torn ankle. The traffic police apprehended the car driver on the information provided by passers-by and sent the injured youth to TMH for treatment in an ambulance. In response to the series of accidents, the Kandra police have taken five motorcycles and two cars into custody and are investigating the incidents. The police have urged motorists to exercise caution while driving on the roads and have reminded them to adhere to traffic rules and regulations to avoid accidents.
